F.I.R.S.T. Steps Academy

F.I.R.S.T. Steps Academy is an ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) after-school program specifically tailored for children with autism in grades K-6. Our primary objective is to enhance adaptive behaviors associated with academic tasks, promoting functional independence and academic success.

Schedule & Location:

  • Monday-Friday, 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM at the Herndon Clinic with a 1:1 child-to-technician ratio.

Goals:

Reduce maladaptive behaviors or difficulties surrounding academic tasks, support homework completion, and encourage active learning.

Skill Focus:

Enhance functional independence skills, comprehension skills, attending to tasks, and transitions between activities.

Program Goals:

  • Support the completion of homework assignments.
  • Help children attend to tasks.
  • Encourage active engagement in learning environments.

Program Details:

  • Monday-Friday at the Herndon Clinic from 4:00-7:00 PM.
  • The program is a 1:1 ratio, child to technician.
  • Insurance-based program, private pay is accepted.
  • Social Skills are incorporated in the program daily.
  • This is an exclusive program where enrollment is limited to ensure personalized attention and high-quality support.
  • 30-minute parent interviews are scheduled prior to scheduling assessment to determine if your child would be a good fit for our program.
